Claude Code integration guide

Plan the product in Claude Code before implementation begins.

Discuss the idea in plain language, confirm the product areas, choose a full plan or MVP, and export work your team can review.

Install for Claude Code
pipx install ticketly
ticketly install claude

1 · Install

Add the Ticketly skill

Terminal
pipx install ticketly
ticketly install claude
ticketly home

2 · Start

Open the project and run Ticketly

Claude Code
/ticketly

Describe the product in your own words. Ticketly asks for missing decisions and explains technical terms when necessary.

3 · Confirm the plan

Review the structure before tickets are generated

  1. Confirm the product and intended users.
  2. Review or choose the technical stack.
  3. Confirm the proposed product areas.
  4. Select a full backlog or lean MVP.
  5. Review and refine the generated tickets.
Non-technical is a supported starting point.

You can describe the desired outcome without pre-writing a PRD or knowing the implementation vocabulary.

For a complete example, follow the product-idea-to-MVP workflow.

After launch

Return when the MVP needs its next upgrade

Run the skill in the existing repository and confirm the next product goal. Claude Code reviews the current implementation; Ticketly turns the confirmed scope into the next backlog.

Example request
/ticketly
This MVP is live. Plan the next release around team accounts.
Keep billing changes deferred for later.

Follow the complete codebase-to-backlog workflow when you want a repeatable review checklist.

4 · Hand off

Give each reader the right artifact

Review backlog.md, hand tasks.md to a coding agent, or import the appropriate CSV into your tracker. Ticket categories, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and an Assignee field make the work easier for a team to review and divide.

Notion users can generate a dedicated Notion-import CSV. Ticketly v1.2.1 does not include a native GitHub Projects importer.
